MSP IT Consultant
ITeck Solutions has a new job opportunity to support existing clients and our growing client base. We are looking for an IT Service Desk Consultant to join our team. We are a trusted MSP serving small and medium businesses with the products, services, and expertise that enable them to achieve a competitive advantage in their industry.
The MSP IT Consultant will provide comprehensive IT services for small to medium businesses (10 to 100 nodes), ranging from first tier helpdesk support to network administration. In addition to maintenance, consultants enhance enterprise operations by recommending and implementing new technology systems and applications.
Duties
- Regular, reoccurring visits to SMBs, maintaining existing IT infrastructure (servers, workstations, firewalls, etc.), addressing any helpdesk needs, maintaining various backup solutions, and providing consultation to improve the client’s IT environment.
- Recommend, manage, and implement IT projects such as network infrastructures design and builds, server and cloud-based service migrations, and firewall installations.
- Manage and resolve disaster recovery situations such as down servers.
- Technical writing including network audits, IT policy development and disaster recovery / business continuity planning.
- Build and maintain client relationships.
Qualifications
Technical Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience working with IT Service Request systems as a technical support specialist.
- Ability to install, configure, and provide technical support for MS Windows Server 2019 and MS Exchange Server in a Windows Active Directory environment.
- Ability to administer Office 365 / Google Workspace services.
- Ability to support and troubleshoot end user desktop operating systems.
- Configuration and management of firewall appliances (Cisco, FortiGate, WatchGuard).
- Must maintain and create procedures, technical support documentation and knowledge base documents.
- Customer service and client management skills. Exceptional customer service skillset and related experience.
- Technical writing for network audits, IT policy composition, disaster recovery planning, and project proposals.
- Office 365 SharePoint administration; VM Ware and / or Hyper-V design and support.
- Network security auditing with vulnerably and penetration testing.
- Mac OS X desktop support.

A Typical Week for an ITeck Consultant
Our work week is Monday through Friday during normal business hours and consists of two, four-hour onsite appointments with clients each day in the greater Washington, DC metro area.
At onsite appointments, the Consultant will resolve helpdesk items such as troubleshooting end user issues, setting up new workstations, or researching and implementing new applications or services to address client needs.
The Consultant is responsible for maintaining the network infrastructure at assigned sites, including routine maintenance of servers, installing critical updates and patches, reviewing and testing backups, and monitoring the general health of the network.
In addition to hands-on maintenance, the Consultant is expected to review the clients’ business needs and work-flow processes to provide recommendations on how new technologies may enhance the client’s job functions or increase productivity. This includes evaluating the current infrastructure such as servers, workstations, and equipment to determine when replacements and upgrades are in order. The Consultant is expected to propose, manage, and implement such projects, upgrades, and migrations.
